TOW TRUCK REMOVES PARKED VAN FROM DETROIT CITY STREET.
A tow truck removes a parked van January 7 late morning from a Detroit city street to assist in snow removal. Later at a noon press conference, Detroit's Mayor Archer declared a snow emergency in the city of Detroit, in order to assist in removing snow from streets, residents must remove all cars parked on city streets or face being ticketed and having their vehicle towed. Detroit's long-standing policy of not plowing residential streets has left residents living along some 1,800 unplowed city streets buried under snow from last weekend's blizzard.
