COUPLE WALK AFTER SNOW STORM DUMPED FIVE INCHES OF SNOW IN ATLANTA.
A couple walk along an Atlanta park near a sign welcoming people to the
city, January 3, 2002. A rare winter storm swept through the Deep South
Wednesday, leaving millions of people across the normally sunny region
struggling to cope with snow, sleet and bone-chilling temperatures.
Between 2 inches (5 cms) and 4 inches (10 cms) of snow fell in parts of
Georgia, Alabama and several neighboring states, turning highways,
bridges and overpasses into a slippery mess. REUTERS/Tami Chappell
