Senior U.N. human rights official Jiri Dienstbier gives an interview to Reuters in Belgrade, October 3. Dienstbier called on Sunday for an immediate end of the international isolation of Yugoslavia, country that has been the subject of the UN and the EU sanctions since 1992 for its role in successive Balkan wars. He also accused Serbian police forces of using excessive violence in breaking the opposition demonstrations in Belgrade this week.
