SERB REFUGEES FROM KOSOVO NEAR CACAK.
Serb boys, refugees from Kosovo, stand next to tractor trailers after a group of Serb refugees were stopped by police on the way to Belgrade on the outskirts of the town of Cacak, some 140kms southwest of the Yugoslav capital September 9. Around 500 Kosovo Serb refugees broke through a police cordon in the central Serbian town of Kraljevo early on Thursday and tried to head for the Yugoslav capital after spending a night in the open, local human rights activists said. The United Nations refugee agency UNHCR has said almost 200,000 Kosovo Serbs have fled the province during and since NATO air strikes on Yugoslavia which forced Belgrade to withdraw its security forces in Kosovo and allow in international forces.
