ZIMBABWE NATIONAL PARKS EMPLOYEES INSPECT ELEPHANT TRUNKS.
Edith Muzas and Marian Rigava, a senior ranger in the Zimbabwe National Parks, inspect a stack of salted elephant trunks prior to their being auctioned in Harare December 10. The National Parks were selling off 27 000 Kg's of various elephant products to local dealers. Elephants were downlisted from Appendix 1 to Appendix 2 at the 1997 Convention for the International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) allowing Zimbabwe and Botswana to trade ivory and elephant products.
